Meet Our Leadership Team

Dr. Karen Paules
Dr. Karen Paules is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She absolutely loves working with geriatrics in their homes and in senior living communities. Years of watching people move in, and in some cases, move out of senior living has given her a unique perspective of what needs must be met for someone to be able to remain in their home.
Karen has been an advocate for years, for her grandparents, her patients, and for her father. After her father was diagnosed with a rare form of dementia, she supported and assisted her mom in caring for her father throughout his disease. Because of their efforts, he was able to live out his life in the home where he was raised and where he raised his family.
When she is not working, Karen can be found spending time with her family, in her garden, or going for a run. She is also Vice President of a 501©3 non-profit performing arts organization and participates as part of their administrative team.

Heather Ritschard, Evening On-Call Manager
Heather has been working in healthcare for over 15 years. Her work experiences include caregiving, medical assisting, and working as a Professional DSP. She has many years of hands-on experience working with a diverse group of individuals, having participated in care for individuals with Autism, Dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and cerebral palsy. She also has extensive orthopedic knowledge, having cared for patients with gait dysfunction, fractures, joint replacements, amputees, and limb abnormalities. Heather says, "Caregiving isn't just something I do, it's something I genuinely care about. I enjoy caregiving because it allows me to connect with others in a meaningful way. Whether it is helping with daily routines, providing companionship, or offering a listening ear, I approach every task with empathy and dedication. I find purpose in making someone else's life easier and treating them like they are my own family."
"I was inspired to help others by working in healthcare and caretaking at a young age. As a child, I often went to the doctor's office with my mom-mom. My favorite thing about going to see the doctor with her was picking a sticker or lollipop at the checkout window before leaving. I always observed the healthcare staff treating my mom-mom with gentle and compassionate care. It motivated me to be the caregiver I am today."
On her days off, Heather spends her free time with her family. "I have an amazing husband who is very supportive. I am also a boymom. I have 3 handsome sons. Our family does most of its bonding by sitting around a campfire or jumping in the waves at the beach. "

Yulissa is a certified Med Tech with over a decade of hands-on experience in elderly care. Throughout her career, she has held diverse roles including Personal Care Assistant, Medication Technician, and Scheduling Coordinator. This comprehensive background has equipped her with a well-rounded understanding of both the clinical and personal aspects of caregiving.
Yulissa says, "My passion for this field began at home, caring for my grandmother during her battle with cancer. Later, I realized that my grandfather had been living with dementia—something I didn’t fully understand as a child. It wasn’t until I entered this field that the pieces came together, and that realization sparked a deep desire in me to help others navigate similar journeys with compassion and dignity. These early experiences shaped my belief that every individual deserves to feel safe, respected, and truly at home, whether aging in their own home or transitioning into a care facility."
Outside of work, Yulissa cherishes time with her husband and children. "I enjoy staying active at the gym, love cooking, and frequently visit my parents. I am always seeking opportunities to learn and grow, and I bring compassion, reliability, and a personal touch to every aspect of my care."
